Yunnan’s “Launching Ceremony for Transforming State Highway G320 into a Model Road with Safe and Civilized Traffic” was held in Chuxiong City, Chuxiong Prefecture on August 24, 2020. Leaders at all levels attended the launching ceremony, and they were from Traffic Police Corps of Yunnan Provincial Public Security Department, Chuxiong Public Security Bureau, Yunnan Provincial Transportation Investment Group, Yunnan Provincial Highway Bureau, Yuannan Provincial Safety Committee Office, and Yunnan Provincial Civilization Office.

After the launching ceremony, all the participants visited Chuxiong Municipal Public Security Bureau, and viewed the practical demonstration of the “Control and Application of Scientific and Technological Informatization in Chunan Section of State Highway G320”. Chunan Section of State Highway G320, located in Chunan City, Yunnan Province, was completed and opened to traffic in 2017, with the total length of 53.819 kilometers. The section passes through 4 townships with 6 lanes in both directions, and the designed speed for vehicles on the section reaches 80 kilometers per hour. Conditions on the section are complex, with many openings, large traffic volume, high speed, and dense crowds. According to data, 376 traffic accidents took place in just one year after the section was opened to traffic, causing 21 deaths and over 300 injuries, which brought significant losses to people’s lives and property.

In order to solve the issues and turn the tables, the “Construction of Scientific and Technological Informatization in Chunan Section of State Highway G320” was officially launched at the end of 2019, with the promotion of the traffic police in Chuxiong City, Yunnan Province. The construction focuses on “Intelligence, Command, Logistics & Supervision Integrated Operation Platform for Chunan Highway” with the support of diversified front-end perceiving devices. The platform was completed and opened in July 2020, with the continuous promotion of Chuxiong Urban and Rural Construction Investment Co., Ltd., and the half-year efforts of both experts from Chuxiong Traffic Police Brigade and the R&D team from Duolun Technology. The platform makes full use of intelligent technologies like big data to establish a service system based on intelligence, command, logistics, and supervision, comprehensively make traffic management and control in Chunan Section more scientific and technological.
