On May 24-25, 2023, the Performance Review Meeting on “Research on Inspection Technology and Equipment for New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Operational Safety Performance” of National Key Research and Development (R&D) programs was held in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province. The Traffic Management Research Institute (TMRI) of the Ministry of Public Security who led the project reported on the project results, and Duolun Technology as a key project participant attended the meeting. Finally, the project passed expert reviews successfully.

A project of national key R&D programs to create a new annual inspection pattern

 

This project “Research on Inspection Technology and Equipment for NEV Operational Safety Performance” is a major generic technology project under the Comprehensive Transportation and Intelligent Transportation Special Projects of National Key R&D Programs during the 13th Five-Year Plan Period. It is intended for addressing prominent issues such as ill-defined operational safety mechanisms for NEVs, methodological confusion in NEV inspection, and no relevant inspection equipment. With this research, a series of inspection devices have been developed and piloted, and ultimately general national technical standards have been developed.

Underpinned by the concerted efforts of the TMRI as the leader and numerous participants including Duolun Technology, this project at its current stage has made progress in basic theory, technical equipment, and platform demonstration. Concretely, a set of a standard system and key standards", "a full set of inspection equipment", and "a real scenario-based inspection platform have been studied and put into use, creating a new integrated pattern of online and offline NEV safety inspection. This has made a “zero to one” breakthrough in the full chain of NEV operational safety performance ranging from inspection technologies to standards, from inspection equipment to platforms, and has filled a gap in this spectrum inside and outside China.

 

Duolun Technology, an active participant in the project of platform R&D and application verification  

 

Duolun Technology is a participant in the project of National Key R&D Programs of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and a member of the National Standardization Committee for New Energy Vehicle Operational Safety Inspection (the Standardization Committee for short) on behalf of inspection organizations. It has, together with the TMRI and other members of the Standardization Committee, been involved in the "Research of the NEV Operational Safety Inspection Technology System and Platform and Their Application Verification". 

 

As a large motor vehicle inspection institution chain and a participant in Project V, Duolun Technology has organized 31 inspection agencies in 6 provinces, i.e., Jiangsu, Shandong, Guangdong, Hebei, Chongqing, Hainan, to undertake the demonstration project of new energy equipment application and therefore supported the R&D of new energy equipment and the iteration of the inspection project. It has also engaged in drafting the product standard “General Technical Requirements on Equipment for New Energy Vehicle Safety Inspection” and the national standard Regulations on New Energy Vehicle Operating Safety Performance Inspection”.

Fill a gap in the industry to create a Chinese approach to safety inspection

This project has contributed significantly to the development of a new pattern for annual inspection on NEV safe operation and a Chinese approach to online active warning, offline hidden hazard cleanup for vehicle operational safety inspection.Going forward, Duolun Technology will continue its efforts in industrializing NEV operational safety performance inspection and maintaining NEV operational safety at source, thus supporting the high-quality development of Chinas NEV industry.
