Duolun Technology's “Key Technologies for Driving Skills Safety” Won the Second Prize of Provincial-level Science and Technology Award

Recently, the "Third Representative Conference of the First Session of Jiangsu Provincial Comprehensive Transportation Society” and “Third Conference of the First Session of Jiangsu Provincial Comprehensive Transportation Society Council" were successfully held in Nanjing. At the conference, the “Key Technology and Application of Intelligent Training on Driving Skills and Correction of High-Risk Driving Behaviors” project jointly completed by Duolun Technology and Southeast University stood out from 165 declared projects and won the “Second Prize of Science and Technology Award of Jiangsu Provincial Comprehensive Transportation Society 2019”.

The Conference


The “Science and Technology Award of Jiangsu Provincial Comprehensive Transportation Society 2019” is the science and technology award established by Jiangsu Comprehensive Transportation Society for the first time in 2019. It aims to select outstanding technologies and applications that have achieved important innovations in the implementation of technological inventions, technological development, technological researches, major engineering, and soft sciences. At the same time, the projects should have evaluation certificates recognized by related official institutions, and after more than one year of implementation and application, they should be proven to obtain significant social benefits.

The Award Ceremony


A total of 2 special awards, 8 first-class awards, 15 Second awards, and 28 third-class awards were selected. The project of Duolun Technology and those of China Railway Major Bridge Reconnaissance & Design Institute Group Co., Ltd., Port and Shipping Development Center of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transport, CCCC Highway Consultants Co., Ltd. and other units are jointly shortlisted.


The “Key Technology and Application of Intelligent Training on Driving Skills and Correction of High-Risk Driving Behaviors” project provides a set of intelligent system solutions for training on driving skills and safety awareness to the mass learners. It has currently conducted demonstrations and promotion applications in 1,773 driving schools in provinces and municipals such as Jiangxi, Liaoning, Shandong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Yunnan. From 2017 to 2018, a total of 1.4 million new drivers were trained and 35,000 instructors had used it. It can effectively cultivate learners’ safe driving habits and reduce high-risk driving behaviors.



Data Model of Driving Risk Based on Correlation and Regression

 

This project proposes for the first time a data model of driving safety risk based on correlation and regression to predict the possible traffic accident risks of drivers with different driving modes. According to the predicted safety risk value of driving behaviors, select driving behaviors with high-risk values as the focus of later driving training to correct the content of training to help trainees develop good driving behaviors.

This project develops for the first time a driving training system for sudden traffic conditions and dangerous scenes based on 3D virtual visual simulation technology. The system uses high-precision 3D modeling technology to virtualize emergencies and dangerous scenes, and combine hardware manipulation mechanisms and posture simulation systems to realize driving training projects that cannot be carried out in traditional ways through virtual simulation interactions. Therefore, beginners and drivers with high-risk can obtain correct handling methods training and psychological coping capabilities.



Artificial Intelligence Assisted Driving Technology in Limited Scenarios

 

This project studies artificial intelligence assisted driving technology in limited scenarios. Through visual perception technology to obtain real-time surrounding environments of vehicles and real-time status of the vehicles, and combined with road test evaluation methods based on the combination of video positioning and digital modeling technologies, it provides real-time driving guidance to learner drivers through real-time voices, which replaces traditional manual teaching methods for on-site driving tests. Also, its data analysis of training processes can provide special training for weaknesses and correct high-risk driving behaviors.

 

Duolun Technology firmly believes that safety awareness and driving skills are two aspects that need to be equally emphasized in driving training. This new technology improves the passing rate of driving tests, effectively enhances learner drivers’ driving skills and their awareness of safe driving, helps them form safe and standardized driving habits, improves the ability of new drivers to deal with various emergencies in complex driving scenarios, and reduces the traffic accident rate and traffic violation rate of drivers with driving experience within 3 years, which has achieved huge social and economic benefits.
